Taking The Next Shot

Ever make a mistake?

Ever say the wrong thing, make a bad decision, miss an opportunity, or fail to act on something you knew you should have?

And then find yourself replaying it over and over?

I think we've all been there.

The world has a way of constantly reminding us of our shortcomings.

The mistake. The missed opportunity. The thing we should have done differently.

What we often miss is the opportunity in front of us.

What's next?

What can I learn from this?

What can I do differently?

What's the next shot I can take?

I was reading an article recently that really resonated with me.

Athletes get asked all the time about missed shots, mistakes, and tough losses.

One quote stood out:

"We can't dwell on the past. We can't dwell on the stuff we missed. It's about the next shift and the next shot."

That applies to life just as much as it does sports.

Life is full of highs and lows.

Wins and losses.

Good decisions and bad ones.

The key isn't avoiding every mistake.

The key is continuing to move forward.

If you're a believer, God's Word reminds us of that constantly.

If you're struggling, lean on your faith.

Lean on your family.

Lean on your friends.

Lean on the people who genuinely want the best for you.

Don't let the world convince you that your mistakes are bigger than your future.

Keep going.

Take the next shot.

"For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." — 2 Timothy 1:7

This is what #DOMORE actually looks like in real life.
