What Would Your Business Look Like on a Napkin?

From the Field

One of my favorite questions to ask in deeper conversations with Loan Officers is this:

If I handed you a napkin and a pen...

What would your business look like?

Not what it looks like today.

What would you build if there were no limitations?

How many loans would you be doing?

What kind of referral partners would you have?

Would you build a team?

Would you stay lean and highly profitable?

Would you have more freedom?

More support?

More balance?

The interesting thing is most people immediately start talking about companies, compensation plans, products, and technology.

But that's not really the question.

The question is:

What are you trying to build?

Because until you know what you want your business to look like, it's impossible to know whether you're on the right path to get there.

That's why I don't start conversations with what I have to offer.

I start with understanding what someone is trying to create.

Once that becomes clear, everything else gets easier.

The company.

The platform.

The tools.

The support.

The strategy.

Everything

starts with the vision.

So if I handed you a napkin and a pen today...

What would your business look like?

This is what #DOMORE actually looks like in real life.
